A short downhill par 4 with heavily bunkered green and approach to create a classic sand-belt style. The demanding approach shot will place a premium on hitting the fairway to allow players greater control on their approach shot. While the appearance is intimidating, a short iron approach will find a large receptive green with plenty of subtle pin locations.
Playing Tips
Tee shot: This tee shot is from an elevated tee making this hole play shorter than it’s measure. Longer hitters may take fairway metal or hybrid as the bunkers down the left can come into play with a driver. From the Fairway: The shot you play from the fairway will depend on your confidence and skill level as the green is heavily bunkered. If your handicap allows you extra shots on this hole then there is no reason to play a shot you may be uncomfortable with, lay up short and play your next shot to the green with a more lofted club or play left of the green and hit a bump and run onto the green. Around and on the Green: The green is protected by many bunkers. This is one of the largest greens on the East with many pin locations, so the most difficult part could be the putting.
