Over the weekend, we had the honour of hosting a number of our reciprocal club friends at our annual “Liv It Up @ The Grange” reciprocal challenge event.
Despite the warm weather, a field of almost 50 players tested their golfing skills around the LIV composite course layout (East back 9, West back 9). With temperatures climbing into the high 30s, golf carts were a must and despite the challenging conditions, the universal feedback from all of our reciprocal friends was extremely positive, glowing with praise at the outstanding condition of the golf course.
Reciprocal clubs from around Australia and overseas were represented, with players from a number of Melbourne Sandbelt clubs (Commonwealth, Yarra Yarra, Huntingdale, Riversdale, Spring Valley), others from further north including Royal Canberra and The Brisbane golf clubs, and from across the ditch at Titirangi in New Zealand. The Grange was well represented with a number of committee and members hosting our guests.
Following golf, participants were treated to an amazing dinner menu prepared by our head chef, David Clay, and his culinary team, where everyone had the opportunity to catch up and enjoy each others company in the Beeston Lounge.
In the main 4BBB competition, it was the Brisbane pairing of Robert & Julie Brown who took out the title with an exceptional score of 46 points, five shots ahead of runners-up, and fellow Brisbane golf club members, David Prince and Deborah Kember. In 3rd place, and the best placed Grange pairing, was Marty Ingham and Hudson Brown, also on 41 points.
Overall, the event was a great success and another excellent opportunity to showcase the best that our club, golf courses and facilities have to offer, and to ensure we continue to grow the relationships we have with our reciprocal clubs.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2025.
