On Tuesday 8th of November we held the Annual 9 Hole Stableford & Luncheon for the Past President’s & Captain’s. On a very hot day we had 6 Players in the Presidents Team & 12 in the Captains, with the scores only taken from the ‘Past’ position holders, and once the averages were applied, the Captains had the slightly better score of 13.4 to 12.3 for the Presidents. Ann Coats was the Winner for the President’s with 16, and Anne Evans Runner-up with 15.
The Winner for the Captain’s was Gail Beaumont with 18 & Belinda Singleton Runner-up on count back from Louise Dearing with 17.
We had 26 join us for a beautiful lunch of Prosciutto wrapped Chicken & vegetables, followed by a stunning white chocolate Panna Cotta Dessert. We had lovely Jansz Champagne on arrival & White & Red Wine to enjoy with our meal, followed by coffee.
The old photo albums came out and were perused by everyone reminiscing the past years. This year, we lost one of the early great achieving Captains (1975-76) in Margaret McAlister. We acknowledged Margaret’s contribution to Women’s Golf at Grange at an earlier Luncheon.
